For a while now, the Arboretum has faced a recurring absence of anchor eateries. While some restaurants have managed to survive, including The Cheesecake Factory and Five Guys, others have sadly closed shop (including Serrano’s, TGI Friday’s, and most notably, Kenobi). Two new restaurants have decided to give this sometimes troubled location a go. Brodie Lane Brazilian steakhouse Estancia Churrascaria opened its Estancia Arboretum location last week. Estancia has made its home in the spot formerly occupied by Serrano’s. Soon to move into the old Kenobi spot is Blue Baker, an import from College Station, which features artisan breads and baked goods, sandwiches, soups, and pastries. Only time will tell if these two newcomers can overcome the string of bad luck that has plagued these locations over the last few years.
